Not everyone sets out to establish a career first and foremost in their lives. Some people have other priorities. Jennifer Louise Ford put having a family over the task of starting a career. She decided that raising her two kids, Marissa, now married and 26 and living in Indiana, and Drew, 23 and living as a student of Florida Atlantic University in South Florida, was her first priority. After her kids had grown, however, she decided to go back to school and start a new career.
She started by attending and graduating from the Florida Atlantic University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science. Before she even began attending school, she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in law and that Political Science pairs well with a law degree. Political Science is a reflection of not just the sociology of people, but also the way that laws are made. By understanding where the laws come from, one can then understand how to best practice it in the courts.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude, she then attended Nova Southeastern University School of Law in order to earn her Juris Doctorate of Law which she finished in 2016. With these studies under her belt, she is now in a position to prepare to sit for the Florida state bar in February of 2017 in order to complete her education and get started on her career in the field of law and order.
